Alpha Delta Pi Diamondback Club Bylaws


ARTICLE I
NAME AND OBJECT
Sec. 1 The name of the club shall be, Diamondback Club of Alpha Delta Pi, Delta Delta Chapter.
Sec. 2 The object of the club shall be to act as an association of mutual friendship and to support and serve the local Delta Delta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
Sec. 3 This club shall exist under the authority of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Inc.
Sec. 4 No work of the Diamondback Club shall act in contradiction to the chapter’s best interest.
Sec. 5 No attempt at solving active chapter or campus problems should be made by any member on behalf of the Diamondback Club.


ARTICLE II
MEMBERSHIP AND DUES
Sec. 1 Membership shall be open to friends and family of Alpha Delta Pi.
Sec. 2 Membership dues for Delta Delta chapter of the Diamondback Club shall be determined at the annual meeting in January.
Sec. 3 All funds generated by the Diamondback Club shall belong to the local Diamondback Club and shall be used to aid or benefit the Delta Delta collegiate chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at the University of Arkansas and/or its members.

ARTICLE III
OFFICERS
Sec. 1 The officers of this organization shall be a president, a vice-president, a recording secretary, treasurer and house liaison. These officers shall be known as the executive committee.
Sec. 2 The executive committee shall decide all matters requiring immediate attention in the interim of meetings and shall have power to call special meetings and to postpone regular ones. It may recommend plans for the club activity to the business meeting of the club.
Sec. 3 The officers shall be elected at the annual meeting in January. Any officer or committee chair shall be eligible to succeed himself/herself or to be elected to a different office for a succeeding term.
Sec. 4 The terms for officers and committee chairs shall be for one fiscal year beginning at election at the annual meeting in January through December.
Sec. 5 Any vacancy shall be filled by the executive committee for the unexpired term.

ARTICLE IV
MEETINGS
Sec. 1 The regular meeting of the club shall be held monthly unless otherwise specified.
Sec. 2 A simple majority of executive committee members shall constitute a quorum.
Sec. 3 An annual meeting is to be held in January.



ARTICLE V
DUTIES OF OFFICERS
Sec. 1 The duties of these officers shall be the usual ones devolving on such offices.
Sec. 2. The vice-president shall serve as the chairman of one of the standing committees of the club.

ARTICLE VI
COMMITTEES
Sec. 1 There shall be five standing committees: recruitment committee, communications committee, housing facility committee, fundraising committee and nominating committee (all of which shall be appointed by the president).
Sec. 2 The recruitment committee shall assist with decorations, set-up, refreshments, and kitchen duties during recruitment.
Sec. 3 The communications committee shall be responsible for printing and mailing a parents’ directory and any newsletters. This committee may also develop phone chains and provide assistance with the website.
Sec. 4 The housing facility committee shall plan and execute projects for the improvement of the chapter’s housing facility.
Sec. 5 The fundraising committee shall plan activities involving fundraising.
Sec. 6 The nominating committee shall present a slate of officers at the November meeting, to be elected at the annual meeting in January.
Sec. 7 No improvement shall be undertaken, no gift given, and no project undertaken without the express consent and approval of the local House Corporation Board.
Sec. 8 The president shall be ex-officio member of all committees with voting privileges, with the exception of nominating committees.
Sec. 9 The Diamondback Club may appoint any other committees which it may deem necessary.

ARTICLE VII
AMENDMENTS AND PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY
Sec. 1 Amendments of these bylaws may be made at any regular meeting of the club by a two-thirds vote of the members present, the proposed amendment having been submitted in writing at the previous regular meeting. Without such notice, the bylaws may be amended by unanimous vote.
Sec. 2 The questions of order not provided in these bylaws shall be decided by Roberts’ Revised Rules of Order.
